Biogeochemistry Lab - Undergraduate

Biogeochemistry Lab

Biogeochemistry Lab

The Biogeochemistry Lab is a space for students to study liquids, mixes and acid components including bodily fluids like blood and urine. By creating different mixes of liquids, students create chemical reactions that allow them to identify and quantify biologically important components.

Students are also able to evaluate water quality in this lab. From identifying copper and aluminum to testing for other chemicals, students learn to pinpoint the chemicals in water to determine the quality.

Biogeochemistry Lab pillars

01.

Create an impact

Although the things you’re studying are small, you can use them to make a big impact. The Biogeochemistry Lab gives you the space to use cutting-edge tools to investigate and analyze liquids and compounds, and identify and detect things like water-borne pathogens and other contaminants.

02.

Hands-on discovery

Building on the foundations learned in the classroom, the Biogeochemistry Lab allows you to put your newly acquired skill set to the test and carry out hands-on investigations. Use cutting-edge tools, materials and tech resources to propose and answer questions that can lead to unique, impactful discoveries.

03.

Guided by leaders

Our faculty is made up of leaders in the field. Take chances, ask questions and find solutions under the watchful eyes of professionals who do the same in their day-to-day. What’s more, your time in the lab can lead to research for your capstone project, which will also be guided by our faculty.
