SIR Fellow Omar Hagrass’ Trella raises $42M in funding

Social Innovators Retreat Fellow Omar Hagrass is the CEO and co-Founder of Egyptian-based digital freight marketplace Trella, who has just raised $42 million in investments, comprising $30 million new equity and $12 million debt facilities. The funding round was led by Maersk and Raed ventures.

“Our aim is to go deep in our current markets while keeping our eyes close on Africa, where we believe the opportunity is really big,” Trella’s CEO and Co-founder Omar Hagrass told Forbes Middle East. “In the meantime, we will explore remote launches in markets that strengthen our positions in existing markets.”
