Jacobo Umbert

I am Jacobo Umbert. My goal in life is to improve the lives of the people around me. I was born in Madrid, and I am 27 years old. In 2019, I became a lawyer and in 2020 I founded Dcycle, the most difficult, revealing, and satisfying journey I have ever taken. Also, I am a person with a very demanding sensitivity for nature and culture that I am always looking to satisfy.

How did IE help you get to where you are today?

IE gives you a clear advantage. I believe that having great stories to tell and achieving great goals, requires doing things differently. IE gives you the key skills to be able to do so. First, it opened my mind to the infinite possibilities and paths that exist and showed me where to start. Next, it taught me to think differently and to tackle problems and obstacles with the right mindset.

What is the best advice you can give to a young individual starting his/her professional career?

Look for challenges no matter how impossible they seem, that's the only way you can grow and get where you never thought you could. You will see you do not have control over your objectives, but you do have control over the processes that lead you to achieve them. Focus on them and reaching your goals will be an inevitable consequence.

What does the future have in store for you?

For now, we are going to make Dcycle the world's leading sustainability management technology. Climate change is one of the great challenges of our era and companies have a leading role to play in fighting it, as they are the pillars of our communities. There is still a long way to go, and I will continue to focus on helping them reduce their environmental impact and generate business value.
