Co-Founders of TUL. IMBA 2019 & IMBA 2012.

Juan Carlos: I am Juan Carlos Narváez from Cali, Colombia. I studied Industrial engineering from Universidad de los Andes and later did my MBA at IE. Prior to founding a company, I worked for different multinational companies in banking, pharma, and consumer product goods industries. I had the opportunity to have financial and commercial roles with local and regional scopes. My goal in life is to make an impact in my family and with the people that I work with. I believe in giving back to the community (I found, through entrepreneurship, that I could really make this happen).

Enrique: I am an Economist from Universidad de los Andes with an MBA from IE. I have a multisector experience from consulting, local companies, and multinationals. I believe that life is short, and we have to take full advantage every day.

How did IE help you get to where you are today?

Juan Carlos: IE helped me by giving me the opportunity of understanding different cultures. This opened my mind on understanding different problems that different cultures can have. IE also gave me a network through which I have been leveraging when expanding into new countries in LATAM.

Enrique: IE was a trampoline for my job into a construction company where I envisioned a problem that could be solved through technology.

How did you come up with the idea for your company?

Enrique: Talking to different customers in construction, I understood that big companies do not know their customers. The only thing that has been important for the past 100 years has been volume, the most important person in the company is the person running the mill. To this day, I understood tat the status quo has worked for the industry, but not for the customer.

What is the key to the success of your company?

Our ultimate goal at Tul is to establish ourselves as the leading tech company in the construction industry in the LATAM region. To achieve this, we aim to execute our strategies swiftly and efficiently, focusing on delivering significant contribution dollar improvements for our investors. At the same time, we remain committed to our core values and social responsibility, which includes generating affordable and worthy housing for low-income families in the region. By consistently delivering value to our stakeholders and positively impacting communities, we strive to become a role model for other companies in the industry and set a new standard for excellence and social impact.
