Lord Jonathan Mance

Jonathan Hugh Mance is a current member of the House of Lords and a former Deputy President of the UK Supreme Court (September 2017 – June 2018). Representing the United Kingdom on the Council of Europe’s Consultative Council of European Judges since 2000, he also chairs both the International Law Association and the Lord Chancellor’s Advisory Committee on Private International Law. Lord Mance is a member of the Judicial Integrity Group and serves on a seven-member panel established under the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, responsible for assessing candidates’ suitability for roles as Judge and Advocate-General at the European Court of Justice and the General Court.
