IE Business School Team Cracks Top Ranks of LBS Consulting Competition
A team of International MBA candidates won 2nd place at LBS tournament.
IE Business School’s Luna Rossa team snagged 2nd place at the London Business School Consulting Case Competition, where 68 teams from 16 schools vied for the coveted top spots.
International MBA candidates Ariana Ashurov (Austria), Vir Singh (India), Praveen Yellapragada (India), Omar Moursi (Egypt) and Jan Jetter (Germany) presented the prize-winning case. The team said their varied backgrounds—engineering, finance, strategy and operations, consulting and investment banking-- proved their strength.
“Our team’s diversity of backgrounds and thoughts fostered the innovative outcome.”

“We have actually only one consultant among us, the rest have completely different backgrounds and this helped us to answer the prompt in a 360 degree way,” Ashurov said.
According to the team members, the opportunity to network was essential, including within IE Business School as the team spanned three sections of the IMBA and did not really know each other beforehand.
Ashurov said she thought real-world experience is key to the level of preparation students receive as part of the degree program.
“Working on this especially in the middle of finals was indeed challenging, but it was an extremely fruitful and rich experience,” she said. “We appreciated a lot that IE connected us to this competition and think it is a major addition to the overall MBA experience.”
