Originally from Peru, Jaime is a Technology and Digital Consultant with a background in communications, marketing, and digital transformation. Currently, he works as a Technology Consultant at bicg, a transformation consultancy firm, where he specializes in leveraging innovation and emerging technologies to redefine how organizations and individuals work.
His experience spans combining technology and business, having worked in consulting, marketing, and becoming a social entrepreneur. He sought to create impact through Chamba Es Chamba, an award-winning social startup focused on improving youth employability in Peru.
A tech enthusiast and people-oriented professional, Jaime is driven by a curiosity to explore how new technologies can empower individuals to thrive in the digital age while contributing to broader social impact.

IN WHAT WAYS DO YOU THINK THE PROGRAM HAS CHANGED YOUR LIFE PROFESSIONALLY AND PERSONALLY?
This program has made a significant impact on my life. It was an investment in myself, and I’m happy to look back and say that it was worth it—I chose the right path. It helped me in two main areas: career-wise and personally.
Professionally, it allowed me to pivot my career, enhance my employability, and gain cutting-edge knowledge in tech and business from some of the brightest minds in their fields. Personally, it introduced me to amazing friends who share my passion for tech and business and from whom I’m still learning every day.
Finally, it helped me believe in myself and gave me the confidence to pursue everything I set out to achieve.
WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR FAVORITE MEMORY OF YOUR EXPERIENCE?
I can’t pick just one favorite memory, but one that I always remember is the inauguration day—meeting new friends and feeling that initial anxiety of not knowing what this journey would bring.
Looking back now, I just want to give myself a pat on the back and say, "Everything is going to be fine. Enjoy the ride—every second of it."
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO STUDY THIS PROGRAM AT IE?
I knew about IE from family and friends who are alumni, and I had been looking into their master’s programs for a while. Choosing this program at IE felt like a decision that would shape my future. I finally made my choice in December 2022 when the first versions of ChatGPT 3.5 were released to the public. I realized that learning about AI and emerging technologies was crucial. Coming from a non-tech background, this program was the only one that combined both tech and business, making it an easy and rewarding choice.
WHAT WERE SOME OF THE MAIN CHALLENGES THAT YOU ENCOUNTERED ON YOUR WAY? HOW DID YOUR MASTER'S PROGRAM AND IE HELP YOU THROUGH THESE CHALLENGES?
One of the main challenges I faced was managing my time effectively. Balancing classes, group projects, and personal plans required me to create new systems for blocking time and staying organized. This program pushed me to improve my time management skills significantly.
Another challenge was maintaining persistence, especially during demanding periods, like going the extra mile on projects or navigating the final term while actively job hunting. Staying motivated and focused was key to overcoming these moments.
What made all the difference was the incredible support system at IE. Faculty, program management, and peers were all genuinely invested in seeing everyone succeed. The program provides you with a wealth of tools and resources, but it’s up to you to take advantage of them. If you ever feel stuck, don’t hesitate to reach out—help is always available. The faculty and program management are passionate, fair, and deeply committed to ensuring you achieve your goals.
WHAT IS NETWORKING LIKE IN THE PROGRAM?
I was fortunate to be part of a program filled with amazing people, which made building friendships feel natural. While it’s normal to feel a bit nervous at first, it helps to remember that everyone is on the same journey—we’re all here to meet new people and create meaningful connections.
Networking becomes much easier when you realize that everyone shares a passion for the same topics. That’s one of the benefits of being in a more specialized master’s program. So, don’t miss out on opportunities to connect outside of class—cherish the little moments, like grabbing a beer with classmates on a Friday evening.
IE is a vibrant community of like-minded individuals, offering even more opportunities to expand your network through its clubs. These are great places to meet incredible people, not just from your own master’s program but also from other programs and even the undergrad community. Make the most of it—you won’t regret it!
