Luigi Laporte
Luigi M. Laporte's career is a reflex of his curiosity and his passion for knowledge and real-world impact. A late starter in academia, Laporte joined the IE PhD Program in Operations Management in 2019 after two decades in management and technology consulting – serving clients such as Coca-Cola, PepsiCo, Vale, ArcelorMittal, and Megalabs – and some years of teaching experience in adjunct positions. His research interests mirror his practical perspective on how organizations can improve their performance by adopting superior policies, processes, and technology. Laporte focuses his research on retail and manufacturing operations, particularly on supply chain management, digital transformation, and strategy execution. He holds a Graduate Certificate in Logistics and Supply Chain Management from the MIT (USA), an Executive MBA from the Universidad Torcuato Di Tella (Argentina), and a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering from the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (Brazil).
