About me

I am Mariami from the small yet vibrant country of Georgia. I graduated with a Bachelor's in Communication and Digital Media and a Master's in Customer Experience and Innovation from IE University. I've always been captivated by people and their stories, finding joy in connecting with individuals. This passion led me to embark on my educational journey at IE.

During my studies, I had the opportunity to explore the real working environment. I seized this chance and gained valuable experience while working in the Communication Department of Georgia's Innovation and Technology Agency, as well as in the Protocol Department of the Administration of the President of Georgia.

The post-graduate chapter of my life has been dedicated to self-discovery, personal growth, and a committed exploration of my career path in the ever-evolving landscape of communication and customer experience. My journey is filled with determination, optimism, and an unwavering desire to create lasting value in society.

DEFINE YOUR EXPERIENCE IN Master in Customer Experience and Innovation IN ONE WORD.

Flourishing.

IN WHAT WAYS DO YOU THINK PROGRAM HAS CHANGED YOUR LIFE PROFESSIONALLY AND PERSONALLY?

One aspect that sets IE University apart is its emphasis on practical learning. Throughout my academic journey, I was encouraged to apply theoretical concepts to real-world scenarios, which greatly enhanced my problem-solving and critical thinking abilities. This hands-on approach equipped me with the practical skills and confidence needed to excel in my field. Furthermore, IE University's diverse and multicultural environment exposed me to a global perspective. Interacting with students from various backgrounds broadened my horizons and enriched my understanding of different cultures and perspectives. It made me a more adaptable and open-minded individual, ready to thrive in a globalized and interconnected world.  This experience was eye-opening, and it has played a significant role in shaping my professional and personal life.

WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR FAVORITE MEMORY OF YOUR EXPERIENCE?

My favorite memory of this incredible journey was the graduation ceremony. It was a moment filled with a complex mix of emotions that are difficult to put into words. No one had ever truly warned us that university would become not just a place of learning, but a home where we forme lasting connections.  Especially when you are part of the tight-knit IE family.  It was a testament to the deep and meaningful connections we had formed. It was a moment of pride, nostalgia, and immense gratitude for the relationships we had nurtured.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO STUDY THIS PROGRAM AT IE?

During my bachelor’s degree, I had the privilege of selecting electives, and one of those classes was Transitional Design. This particular course resonated with me in a way that no other had before. Thereafter, my professor introduced me to the Customer Experience and Innovation program at IE, and I was instantly captivated by its uniqueness and innovation. The program's focus on redefining traditional paradigms and its cutting-edge approach to problem-solving deeply appealed to me.

WHAT WERE SOME OF THE MAIN CHALLENGES THAT YOU ENCOUNTERED ON YOUR WAY? HOW DID YOUR MASTER PROGRAM AND IE HELP YOU THROUGH THESE CHALLENGES?

One of the challenges that I face is work market. Many companies claim to be inclusive and impartial in their decision-making processes.  However, I encountered the reality that some companies reject applications automatically based on the absence of the required work permit. This obstacle was particularly frustrating, as it seemed to contradict the inclusive values professed. Fortunately, IE University plays a pivotal role in helping students navigate these challenges. It provides valuable insights and guidance during the process.

WHAT IS NETWORKING LIKE IN the program?

It is lifelong friendship, the most significant and rewarding aspect of my academic journey. Networking is not a mere aspect of one's academic or professional journey; it's a lifeline. I quickly realized that one should not be shy to network all the time because it’s the core for development and growth; You learn more from your surroundings.
