Challenging.

In what ways do you think the program has changed your life professionally and personally?

This master gave me the tools and knowledge to address the global challenges of corporate strategic communication. Furthermore, during the program, I embraced the main IE values, including diversity, sustainability, management skills, and innovation. Without a doubt, these values strongly align with my personal and professional aspirations.

On a personal level, the program challenged me to achieve the expected results while juggling work, studies, and personal life. In this regard, I had to develop greater resilience and enhance my coordination skills.

What has been your favorite memory of your experience?

Undoubtedly, my favorite memory of the master's degree was the Media Training we received on the Segovia campus. The teachers were remarkably effective in their methodology and empathetic.

The special facilities provided on the Segovia campus made us feel as if we were at a real press conference. While many of us were nervous at first, this practice helped us recognize our strengths and weaknesses as spokespeople. It was a highly valuable workshop for my growth as a professional communicator.

Why did you choose to study this program at IE?

I selected the Executive Master in Strategic Marketing & Communication at IE because of its excellent blend of online and in-person sessions. This program's structure provided me with the opportunity to pursue a high-quality Master's degree without interrupting my career as Head of Sustainability and Communication.

What were some of the main challenges that you encountered on your way? How did your master program and IE help you through these challenges?

With a degree in business and years of work experience, I enthusiastically seized the opportunity to lead the Corporate Communication department. However, due to a combination of personal circumstances and professional responsibilities, my goal of pursuing a master's degree at a world-class university had to be postponed. This aspiration was delayed, but it was never forgotten. I was happy to have finally entered and completed this prestigious master's program, which I considered pivotal for my personal and professional growth. It allowed me to refine my communication skills and gain a valuable strategic perspective. I am now well-prepared to elevate my career to the next level.

What is networking like in the Executive Master in Strategic Marketing & Communication?

The level of diversity you find in the class, and at IE University in general, is remarkable. This is why the learning path is enriched from many perspectives. At IE I experienced more diversity than in any previous experience.

How was the experience of doing the Master in a format that allows you to continue working while studying?

I believe it is an ideal format for professionals who want to continue pursuing objectives in their workplaces, but at the same time achieve their academic goals. While these programs demand a thoughtful self-assessment regarding the balance between study and work, as well as the necessary facilities for completion, I firmly believe that if the opportunity arises, it is worth seizing.

What advice would you give to students who are about to begin the program?

For those who want to embark on this journey, I recommend that they prepare to break their routine and readjust their schedules. Multicultural teams are very beneficial, but for effective coordination, schedules can be somewhat complex. Furthermore, I recommend being very open-minded, tolerant, and enthusiastic in order to make the most of the knowledge provided by the teachers and your fellow classmates. Lastly, I strongly encourage you to savor the journey.
