Shailesh Prajapati
Shailesh Prajapati is a seasoned technology executive with over 28 years of experience in Technology Infrastructure, Data Management, and AI/ML. He currently leads the Data Center of Excellence global teams Solution Design & Development to solve complex operational issues within the Chief Operating Office line of business. He has worked across 3 different continents and enjoys exploring new technologies and often can be found working with the various startups through the industry partnership and innovation teams. He is based in the suburbs of Boston and an avid Celtics and Patriots fan.

Tell us about your current role at Wells Fargo.
I’ve worked at Wells Fargo since 2019 and currently lead our data science activities. In my role, my focus is really to meet different business partners internally and understand their operational issues. Once I have this list of opportunities, I can create some innovative solutions to bring efficiency to many operational processes. In the past five years, I have leveraged artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) technologies to accomplish this, saving millions of dollars for the bank.
Why did you choose to pursue the IE Brown Executive MBA?
While considering various MBA programs, I was seeking a well-rounded global business perspective along with a focus on the humanities. How would you describe your experience in the program so far?
I’d describe the program as a mix of intensity and flexibility. It equips participants with the knowledge, skills and network to become successful leaders in today's global business environment.
What’s one thing you hope to get out of the program?
From my learning journey, I want to develop a strategic perspective. My goal is to become a leader who can not only implement technology solutions, but also guide organizations in leveraging technology to achieve their goals while gaining a competitive edge.
With experience in tech strategy and transformation, how will the program help you grow your skill set?
I anticipate that the IE Brown Executive MBA will continue to strengthen my ability to analyze complex business situations, identify opportunities for technology-driven solutions and align tech strategy with broader organizational goals.
More importantly, technology transformation often requires effective leadership to navigate change and secure buy-in from stakeholders. This program will enable me to hone my leadership skills with classes in Leading People, Strategy, communication skills and consensus building, among others.
What was your first impression of Madrid during the residential period?
When we began our sessions in Madrid, my first thought was that the program was well organized. Furthermore, our professors are world-class and have solid educational backgrounds themselves. We also received a lot of support at the start of the program, which was top-notch.
By the end of the two-week residential period, it was clear that IE Business School offers a truly international learning experience, with students and faculty from diverse backgrounds.
