“The MCXI was instrumental in helping me break free from mental barriers and realize my potential. To my fellow future MCXIers: you truly get what you put in! My golden rule is simple: work hard, play hard, but remember to take a moment and breathe. Time flies by, so make every second count, but absorb everything you learn —academically and beyond!”
DEFINE YOUR EXPERIENCE IN ONE WORD.
Transformational.
IN WHAT WAYS DO YOU THINK PROGRAM HAS CHANGED YOUR LIFE PROFESSIONALLY AND PERSONALLY?
MCXI really helped me break through my own mental barriers and recognize that limitations are often self-imposed. I’ve learned that, with effort, you can master almost anything, so this program really pushed me to redefine my boundaries and strive for more—both professionally and personally.
WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR FAVORITE MEMORY OF YOUR EXPERIENCE?
The MCXI for me is an amalgamation of favorite memories, too many to put on this sheet. From meeting new people, to learning new things, to overcoming personal challenges, this entire experience is one I will never forget.
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO STUDY THIS PROGRAM AT IE?
As someone who initially enrolled in a different program but switched to the MCXI, I owe a great deal to our Academic Director, Andrew McCarthy. The introductory module on customer experience and the creative process during the core period was a game-changer for me. It showcased how uniquely this program focuses on practical skill-building and challenging the status quo. From the moment I switched, I knew I was on a path to invaluable learning.
WHAT WERE SOME OF THE MAIN CHALLENGES THAT YOU ENCOUNTERED ON YOUR WAY? HOW DID YOUR MASTER PROGRAM AND IE HELP YOU THROUGH THESE CHALLENGES?
Having been out of academia for over a decade, returning to a traditional academic setting was not easy at first, but IE was anything but traditional. I soon realized my biggest challenges was mental and this self-imposed limitation. And so, with my incredible network of peers and professors, I push beyond these barriers and embraced my experience in whole.
WHAT IS NETWORKING LIKE?
Networking at IE is invaluable. During my time with the MCXI, I’d joined the Climbing club, the CX Enthusiasts club and the Net Impact club and had great experiences because of that, but it was really after graduation that I truly saw its power. As an alumna, I've joined both regional and industry-specific alumni networks, and they’ve already begun to open doors for me, which is very exciting.
