IE Business School, 7th worldwide in the Financial Times Master in Finance Ranking 2023
The Master in Finance at IE Business School is a one-year program provides students with first-hand knowledge of modern markets.
IE Business School is 7th in the world according to the Financial Times 2023 ranking of Master in Finance programs. The annual ranking considers various aspects of the program including student’s career path and salary, the diversity of faculty, board members, students by gender and nationality, international reach, and carbon footprint.
The Master in Finance at IE Business School is a one-year program allows students to explore the current financial environment and provides them with first-hand knowledge of modern markets. There are four specialized tracks – Investment Banking and Private Equity, Financial Analytics and Digital Finance, Real Estate and Alternative Investments, Global Markets and Asset Management – to give students a further boost upon entering the job market. IE Business School also offers dual degrees with the Master in Finance.
“We are pleased that in this latest Financial Times ranking, IE Business School’s Master in Finance continues it’s position among the top 10 worldwide and first in Spain.”
Norman Kurtis, Dean of Programs at IE Business School
“This result is due to a variety of factors, including our rigorous selection of students from around the world, students who go on to develop successful careers in the main financial markets, and the program’s academic design, which has a clear focus on the labor market and the demands of recruiters, and with specializations in private equity and hedge funds. In addition, our second position worldwide as a carbon neural institution has been recognized in this ranking.”
Students in the program, who currently represent 31 nationalities, can participate in interactive, virtual investments with internet-based simulators via the IE Business School Trading Room, explore investment opportunities for a leveraged buyout, and learn programming in FinTech, Python, MATLAB, and Visual Basic. The program offers a variety of networking opportunities and optional trips to London, New York, and Ghana, and students bring real-world know-how to their final projects, which address issues such as digital assets, solar power plants, and microfinance.
For example, the Financieros sin Fronteras (Financiers without Borders) offers students the opportunity to participate in a microfinance project in Ghana. Launched by Master in Finance Academic Director Professor Ignacio de la Torre in 2011, the initiative aims to help students understand how a knowledge of finance and enhanced credit penetration in a frontier market can foster entrepreneurship, alleviate poverty, and increase social opportunities. It is among the program’s most popular offerings.
