Major FinTech Conference at IE Tower Unites Industry Experts and Students
FinTech leaders spoke about regulation and trends in the industry during the conference at IE Business School.
IE Master students hosted a FinTech conference with speakers from PayPal, Bunq, Hastee, the Spanish Banking Association, and other companies, attracting almost 600 attendees to the IE Tower.
Financial leaders, representatives of emerging FinTech companies, and crypto experts covered topics such as regulation and growth of the industry, security, and technological trends like Cloud, APIs, AI, and Blockchain.
“Investing has always been in the DNA of banks, but it is now more critical due to the need for secure and reliable systems.”

Twelve IE Fintech Club managers collaborated with the Startup Network Europe (SNE), an organization that executes events for Europe’s startup ecosystems, to change the status quo: lack of awareness about the industry and the dimensions it covers among IE students.
“As a Fintech club, the objective we set was to make the industry more known and thus expand the interest of the community,” said Sebastián Cristi Larrain, IMBA student and leader of the partnership team in the IE FinTech club.
Although organizers of the conference faced numerous challenges, the FinTech club managed to execute the conference with 270 offline and 300 online attendees which officially claimed the title of one of the largest events ever organized by profession-based clubs at the university.
“Witnessing their enthusiastic response on the day of the conference validated our efforts,” said Nikhita Nair, IMBA student and leader of the events team in the FinTech club.
Organizers also highlighted the guidance of the IE University in the matters such as technical aspects of sound and image, security protocols, catering, management of the spaces to accommodate a big number of attendees, and marketing distribution of the event around the IE community.
“Their [Campus Life’s] expertise and unwavering support were indispensable in overcoming logistical challenges and ultimately contributing to the success of the event,” said Nair.
Finally, the club members recognized that the skills in strategy, marketing, and project management, learned during their courses at IE Business School, provided insights into effective planning and execution.
