PABLO ISLA , President and CEO of Inditex, at IE Business School

Pablo Isla, president and CEO of the Inditex group, visited IE Business School as part of the celebrations for the tenth anniversary of the School's Senior Management Programs Unit.

The president of Inditex spoke to IE directors and students about Inditex, a Globalization Experience. Participants in the event included Alfonso Martínez de Irujo, president of Executive Education at IE, Carlos Cortés Beltrán, partner of Cremades & Calvo-Sotelo, and Manuel Bermejo, the director of senior management programs at IE. Bermejo stated that Inditex, its founder and its management team embodied the values of entrepreneurialism held by IE Business School since its inception.

In the course of his address Pablo Isla offered a practical lesson for entrepreneurs and for entrepreneurial families. The Inditex Group president commented on some of the defining features of the Group, explaining that Inditex's people think big and look far, but they also pay a great deal of attention to small details. Isla also focused on the importance of logistics at Inditex, the challenge of competing against the best, and the group's continuous commitment to international expansion.

Pablo Isla explained how the Inditex business model attaches great importance to the shop, product, and sales teams, which are organized in such a way that they serve as the lifeblood of the company. His address underscored the values and principles that form part of the corporate culture of the group, its entrepreneurial spirit, non-conformism, and ambition coupled with humility and self-criticism.
