BUILDING PURPOSEFUL EXPERIENCE WHERE IT MATTERS
Even when you feel certain about where your career is headed and have set yourself clear professional goals, purpose can remain somewhat elusive. Understanding where the meaning lies in your work can only come through experimentation and over time. Of course, gaining fulfillment from what you do is one of the most important ways to enrich your career and ensure the path you are on will sustain you for the long term.
In the Master in Management & Strategy, we’ll work with you to hone in on your passions, understand what drives you and how you challenge yourself—in other words, to figure out what purpose will mean to the next best you. Our unique, curated learning experience is designed to grow with you as your understanding of your purpose evolves, maintaining the flexibility to ensure the goals remain focused and as achievable as when you defined them. If your goals evolve, great; another reflection of the real world of work. With our faculty acting as your Corporate Mentors to guide you, you’ll still surpass your ambitions with confidence, harnessing your strengths to build a lasting career with purpose as its foundation.
Our graduates understand that a better world is achievable and work towards making it happen. We call it Business with Purpose. Our mission is to create a movement led by a new generation of professionals who share our belief that business leaders carry a responsibility—to the planet, to society and to the well-being of others. With our guidance, you’ll become the business leader you envisioned, making a difference exactly how and where you wanted to.
PUTTING YOUR PURPOSE TO WORK
Planet
We believe better business practices can be a force for change in the world, improving lives and protecting the environment. We call this Sustainable Business, and it’s one of the cornerstones of our program. As you strive to achieve the professional goals you’ve laid out, we’ll provide you with a grounding in the key concepts that make Sustainable Business a reality. While the business, finance and STEM fields have not traditionally been associated with an environmental conscience, a sustainable outlook is non-negotiable in the modern business context. We all have a responsibility to the planet—none more so than the next generation of business leaders starting out at IE Business School. We’ll show you how to make sustainability a rich vein of thought that runs through everything you do.
Society
It’s no secret that business, finance and STEM subjects sit at the very forefront of tangible societal change. Indeed, combining the skill sets inherent to these fields with a mindset that ties economic success to social issues is one of the most effective ways to use your business skills for a wider good. We call this Social Entrepreneurship, an approach that harnesses the power of your ingenuity and problem-solving abilities to tackle enduring social problems. Studying the Master in Management & Strategy is about maximizing your potential—both as a business professional and as a person. Part of that means using the skills, strengths and practical experience you acquire to make a difference to society at large.
People
At IE Business School, we believe people matter just as much as results. We call this Working Well. An inclusive workplace that prioritizes employee well-being is no longer an optional extra – it’s imperative in creating an environment where people can thrive. Positivity leads to productivity, a fact no business can afford to ignore, while diversity is a strength in and of itself. The culture of a business comes from the top, so when you’re a business leader you will need to recognize the importance of inclusivity and well-being and make it integral to what you do—anything less will put you at a competitive disadvantage. The Master in Management & Strategy prides itself on giving you the experience to foster a human working environment and reflect the power of positive leadership in everything you do.
PURSUING YOUR PURPOSE IN THE MASTER IN MANAGEMENT & STRATEGY
Enjoying a long and fulfilling career in your chosen field is ultimately about more than just results. The Master in Management & Strategy will harness your drive, passions and professional objectives to help you unlock your purpose and bring added meaning to your pursuit of success. You’ll learn how to use your specific skills, knowledge and practical experience to make a positive impact on today’s economy, considering the implications for all stakeholders.
