Download Beyond Electoral Uncertainty: Rethinking the Transatlantic Alliance in Times of Change
The last decade has witnessed a surge in complex geopolitical tensions that present substantial challenges to the world order, and particularly to the transatlantic relation.
Current tensions stem from a variety of sources, including the continuing effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, the war in Ukraine, the Gaza Conflict, and US-China competition for global hegemony.
Against a backdrop of escalating conflicts, the liberal democratic model is being challenged, faced with a new multipolar model in constant flux and increasingly obsolete structures of global governance.
By bolstering this partnership, Western democracies can maintain their leadership while encouraging international cooperation with other regions and actors in a multipolar world. Together, we can guarantee the survival of the liberal democratic model for shared peace and prosperity.
