IE Foundation and Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation Promote Sustainability Among Youth with New Scholarships and Inspiring Events
In an event held at IE Tower, the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation (FPA2) and the IE Foundation announced their new alliance aimed at fostering environmental awareness among young people and future leaders.
This collaboration, presented on January 30th, includes a series of initiatives that highlight the commitment of both institutions to sustainability and education:
- Sustainability Scholarships: As part of this alliance, the ‘Prince Albert II of Monaco Scholarships for Sustainability’ program was launched, which awards two scholarships annually to students with outstanding profiles and a strong commitment to environmental impact. These scholarships will enable recipients to pursue master’s programs at IE University, thereby strengthening the training of leaders committed to sustainable transformation.
- Exhibitions and Cultural Spaces: Additionally, the alliance includes the creation of cultural and educational spaces, such as the exhibition “2023 Environmental Photography Award Edition: Life in Perspective,” which, after being displayed at Retiro Park, was exhibited at IE University’s vertical campus, IE Tower. This exhibition aimed to raise awareness about the impact of human activity on the natural environment and promote more responsible behavior towards the environment.
- Inspiring Talks: During the presentation event, attendees had the opportunity to listen to prominent speakers such as Olivia Mandle, a young activist and member of the FPA2’s Re.Generation Future Leaders program, and Javier Goyeneche, founder of Ecoalf. Both shared their experiences and motivated young people to adopt sustainable practices in their daily and professional lives. Additionally, the first two scholarship recipients from this partnership shared their testimonies and their commitment to being impact ambassadors in their professional development.
“We are proud to collaborate with the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, who share our vision of providing educational opportunities to change agents to build a more sustainable and prosperous planet.”
Gonzalo Garland, Executive Vice President of the IE Foundation
For her part, Carol Portabella, President of the FPA2 in Spain, noted: “We are convinced that this ambitious agreement will help raise awareness among future leaders to create a positive impact on the planet.”
This event and the announced initiatives underscore the fundamental role of education and international collaboration in building a more sustainable future.
