Today we celebrate a new addition to our team at IE Research Datalab! Dr. Daniel Precioso, a physicist with a PhD in Data Science and Machine Learning, has officially joined us as our university’s first post-doc researcher. Collaborating with the BBVA Foundation, Daniel will play a pivotal role in advancing our weather routing project, which sponsors his post-doctoral journey.
Daniel’s professional journey has intertwined both academia and company. His Phd thesis delved into the applications of Data Science to the Blue Economy, with a focus on sustainable development through the use of AI. Daniel’s expertise on weather routing is showcased in is participation in the startup Green Navigation, known as “the eco-friendly Google Maps of the sea”. This project is being so impactful that it led Daniel to present it before the European Parliament, this past month of July. You can see his intervention here: link to news.
