IE Research Datalab is proud to start 2024 with a publication. Manuele Leonelli, along with some collaborators, has published the article “Using staged tree models for health data: Investigating invasive fungal infections by aspergillus and other filamentous fungi” in the Computational and Structural Biotechnology Journal.

Manuele’s paper results from a super interesting collaboration with doctors from various hospitals in the Madrid community. We study the risk factors associated with invasive fungal infections by Aspergillus and other filamentous fungi that have become a critical public health problem in recent decades. In 2022, the World Health Organization published the first-ever list of fungal “priority pathogens”, where Aspergillus was listed as deemed of critical importance.
