OUR PROGRAMS & INITIATIVES
We believe in the power of education to promote gender equality and foster positive change. Through academic content, research, career development, and financial aid, we contribute to crafting a fairer workforce for all, regardless of gender.
Knowledge is a motor that drives empowerment, opportunity, and progress. With that in mind, we offer women academic programs and courses that equip them with the specific insights and skills to excel in roles and industries where women are underrepresented. We also offer courses—open to anyone—that promote awareness on topics such as women leaders throughout history, or diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
LEADING THE WAY IN WOMEN'S REPRESENTATION
DIVERSE, IMPACT-DRIVEN RESEARCH
DIVERSE, IMPACT-DRIVEN RESEARCH
High-quality research is a key tool in driving progress and making a lasting impact in society. At IE University, we are proud to have a community of dedicated scholars with diverse profiles, perspectives, and areas of expertise. We strongly believe that the more diverse our groups of researchers are, the richer the potential outcomes of their investigative work. And with the rigor and excellence with which they conduct their work, it’s no surprise that they consistently present meaningful and cutting-edge research that stands out in their respective fields.
We offer PhD programs, applied research projects, and thematic research groups so that you can conduct research in the way that best suits you. You can peruse our full range of research initiatives on the official website.

WOMEN AT IE UNIVERSITY
Recruitment, Application, and Admission: While our admissions policies remain merit-based, we are committed to actively pursuing gender balance among applicants. This commitment does not entail positive discrimination but rather involves intensified recruitment efforts to attain this equilibrium. Here are some of the proactive steps we take to ensure gender balance:
*Policy updated in the last 5 years
- 01.
The systematic collection and continuous monitoring of gender-related data in quantitative datasets, broken down by gender, concerning the selection processes for researchers, PhD candidates, research associates and students.
- 02.
Ensuring gender balance among technical-administrative personnel involved in recruitment, selection, and admission responsibilities.
- 03.
Following on the previously mentioned points, we regularly review our efforts to attract top female candidates from across the globe, particularly in fields where women are less represented. Our recruitment teams have the freedom to undertake any necessary actions or initiatives to achieve this objective.
- 04.
We strongly encourage our staff to engage with audiovisual content and information aimed at combatting gender stereotypes within the IE University community, especially in the context of assessment procedures. This is an ongoing practice, and here's an example.
Women in underrepresented subjects
In addition to the industry-specific scholarships mentioned above, we are committed to encouraging more women to pursue careers in leadership and STEM fields through various pre-university activities. One noteworthy initiative is our collaboration with 50&50 Gender Leadership, supported by Campus CEOE (Confederación Española de Organizaciones Empresariales), known as "Chicas Imparables." This project is dedicated to empowering women through workshops on entrepreneurship, innovation, and leadership. Notably, outstanding participants have the opportunity to earn an exclusive scholarship to study at IE University.
Another impactful program we offer is "STEM Talent Girl," an innovative training initiative designed to nurture girls' interest in science and technology, ultimately inspiring them to pursue STEM careers. Developed by the ASTI Foundation in partnership with the Junta de Castilla y León and IE University at the local level, this program features workshops led by women actively engaged in science and technology professions.
