Specialised in dynamic competitivity and differentiation strategies, Rosario Silva was a pioneer in the analysis of the success of the Zara fashion chain, as featured in her Inditex case study (1997). She holds a degree in economics and business from the University of Navarra and an MBA from IE. Ms Silva has obtained the Advanced University Studies Diploma from Universidad Carlos III, Madrid, with her work on “Concept and measurement of differentiation”. In her own words “My research is focused on the strategies pursued by companies in the hotel sector in order to attain differentiation”.
Professor Silva has taught strategic management at IE for seven years, combining her classes with management, first in the Careers Management Centre, and subsequently as the director of the Master in Human Resource Management. She previously worked as a risk analyst at Caixanova.
She regularly collaborates with different media agents and contributes to numerous business management journals.
