Ahead of United Nations Day, we take a look at four of the fundamental goals of the institution as it celebrates its 75th anniversary. The UN works to try to keep peace throughout the world and foster improved relations among its 193 member states as well as combating the threats to those in poverty. Working to protect the rights of the vulnerable is also key to the UN’s mission as it tries to bring the actions of nation-states closer together.
