About me

My name is Antonio García and I’m from Madrid. I would describe myself as dynamic, ambitious and optimistic. In addition to technology, sports, especially motorsports, is one of my biggest passions. After completing the Dual Degree in Business Administration + Laws at IE University, I realized that the Doble Máster en Abogacía y Emprendimiento y Tecnología (LL.M.) would be the ideal complement to my legal education. At the same time it would allow me to specialize in a highly regarded field that’s in line with my interests. So far, my experience with the dual master’s has been nothing short of incredible.

Why did you decide to study at IE University?

When I was at high school, I visited IE University during an open day and fell in love with its vision and the prospects it offered for the future. In addition, it was important for me to study at an international university with an entrepreneurial spirit and a global perspective, because I’m a very ambitious person who has lived in several countries. So in the end, I decided to take the Dual Degree in Business Administration + Laws at IE University.

Why did you decide to also do this dual master’s at IE University?

After my positive experience doing the dual bachelor’s, I was absolutely certain that I wanted to stay and do some kind of complementary training. Then I discovered the dual master’s programs and it was perfectly clear: this program would allow me to enter the labor market not only as a registered lawyer, but one with a unique profile that’s highly valued in today’s market.

What’s your favorite part of the program?

Undoubtedly the teaching method at IE University, which is based on the case study method. Every week the professors present us with a new case to solve in teams. In this way, by the end of the program we will have worked on countless real cases, and will have become familiar with many of the situations we could encounter when we enter the professional world. I especially appreciated the chance to network with both my classmates and of course professors, who are first-class professionals in the fields of law and technology.

Where would you like to work after completing the program, and how is IE University helping you achieve this goal?

In my case, I’m extremely lucky to have managed to join such a long-established company with talented professionals like Deloitte. Moreover, its Legal Management Consulting department takes the latest technologies and applies them to the legal profession. And the best thing is that I already know who my superiors will be, because they themselves have taught me at IE University. So the guidance from IE University has been decisive: thanks to this dual master’s, I’ve achieved my goal of focusing my career on new technologies. I’m thus developing a profile that will help me to one day become a leading lawyer in the sector.

What advice would you give someone who’s considering pursuing this program?

I would advise you to make the most of the opportunities that IE University offers you, not only in terms of the classes and faculty, but also the activities and events offered by Campus Life. Of course, you must also take full advantage of the IE Talent and Careers department, which really helps to guide students on their professional path.

Where do you see yourself in five or ten years?

I’d like to build and walk my own path. Using the resources and skills that I’ve been acquiring over the years at IE University, and the networking opportunities it offers, I’d like to be able to set up my own business combining law and technology. I don’t have a detailed plan drawn up yet, but I want to launch a startup soon, and I intend to do it through the IE Venture Lab.
