Francesco Mazza
I’m from Milan, Italy. I’d describe myself as a curious and patient person who is tenacious at the same time. Having entered the professional world relatively recently, I’m focused on developing myself in law, with a view to specializing in business law. I want to learn everything I can in order to get proper professional training.
"Thanks to the Double Master, I was able to consolidate my knowledge of law and delve into some aspects of it that I hadn’t had the chance to address in my undergraduate studies."
How was your career before your Double Master? Tell us about your academic and professional background.
Before coming to IE Law School, I got an LL.B. in European Law from Maastricht University, and a Master in International Law, Foreign Trade and International Relations from ISDE. Upon completing those studies, I decided to settle in Spain for good, and obtained a degree in Law from the UNIR.
Why did you choose IE Law School?
It was principally because of the wide range of Double Master programs on offer that focus on my main areas of interest. I also chose the school on account of their reputation for quality, and the fact that the program offered the opportunity to study in English.
What did you most like about your Double Master?
What I liked most was the teaching methodology. Due to the emphasis on real-world cases, this was a natural evolution of the educational path I’d begun in my undergraduate studies. The program allows you to apply the knowledge you’ve gained over the years appropriately and effectively in the professional world.
Was there anything about the program that you didn’t expect?
I was positively surprised by the health and safety protocols adopted across IE University, which allowed for face-to-face classes to continue throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
Where would you like to work in the future?
I would like to continue my professional career at UrÃa Menéndez, the firm where I am currently doing my internship.
Could you share something you’ve learned at IE Law School that others should know, and that you’ll carry with you in the future?
I think the most important thing I’ve learned is how to manage a heavy workload effectively.
What advice would you give to someone considering the program?
I would recommend that they truly commit to the program, and prepare to deal with many different ideas and personalities.
Can you summarize your experience at IE Law School?
Overall, it was a positive experience from both an academic and personal point of view. Thanks to the Double Master, I was able to consolidate my knowledge of law and delve into some aspects of it that I hadn’t had the chance to address in my undergraduate studies. At the same time, I was also able to build lasting friendships that I believe will be valuable for both personal and professional development.
