Lorenzo Morejón Márquez

Lorenzo Morejón is a Sevillian with a passion for business law. He enjoys facing new challenges and takes advantage of any and all opportunities to continue learning. Prior to completing the Doble Máster en Abogacía y Procura + Asesoría Jurídica de Empresas Bilingüe (LL.M.) at IE Law School, Lorenzo studied a dual degree in law and business administration and management in his hometown. He completed his law internship in the litigation and arbitration department at Cuatrecasas in Seville, and it was there that he decided he would pursue law as a career. Specifically, his internship piqued his interest in business law.

Determined to pursue a career in this field, Lorenzo chose to complete his studies with one of IE Law School's dual degree master's programs in law and procurement. He was very impressed by highly experienced faculty and the institution's expertise in this type of program. However, the deciding factor for Lorenzo was IE Law School's close contact with international law firms in Madrid and "the number of students who land internships in these firms every year after completing the program."

Shortly after graduation, Lorenzo began working as a lawyer in the public and regulatory law department at Pérez-Llorca, a firm where he continues to work today. He considers himself fortunate to be able to practice in a firm with such a high level of excellence that pushes him to continuously improve. Lorenzo works in the energy and natural resources sector, a constantly evolving industry that requires him to update his knowledge on a regular basis. New challenges arise every day, but far from seeing them as something negative, Lorenzo grows with them and considers them one of the most interesting aspects of his work. He aspires to be recognized as a good professional, but, above all, as a good person who is easy to work with.

Lorenzo is well aware of the positive aspects of the program that have helped him in his professional career. Two of them stand out in particular: the practical approach and the continuous group work for finding solutions to case studies. On the one hand, the practical methodology of the program is ideal for establishing theory and putting concepts into practice. In this sense, he affirms that the program is the "perfect link between the university stage and the world of work." On the other hand, the group work serves to prepare students for the realities of the profession, helping them develop skills and values that they will later need in their day-to-day, like camaraderie, efficiency, organization and adaptability. This group work also allows students to learn from others and get to know other perspectives from which to approach the cases.

For those who are considering studying a program at IE Law School, Lorenzo recommends that they don't think twice and simply go for it. He says it helped him improve his skills and learn to adapt them to the demands of the legal sector today. He especially highlights that the program provides plenty of opportunities to meet like-minded people. "I made very good friends and acquired a wide network of contacts, which I think is very positive in a world as small as business law," he says.
