Nerea López Alández
My name is Nerea and I’ve lived in Madrid my whole life. I consider myself a person with attitude, sound judgment and the tenacity to fight for my goals and pursue my dreams. I’m also very curious and always try to learn from any situation that arises. In the future, I hope to become a great lawyer in the business world with the help of the program I’m studying: the Doble Máster en Abogacía y Procura + Asesoría Jurídica de Empresas Bilingüe (LL.M.). I’m passionate about writing, and hope to publish a novel one day. I also love to dance, a hobby that my mother instilled in me and to which I’ve dedicated a lot of time.
"IE Law School knows how to create an inclusive, innovative and collaborative environment that allows you to develop your skills to the fullest."
The tenacity to pursue her dreams
Nerea is a born and raised Madrileña, who stands out for her desire to learn and her ability to take advantage of any opportunity that life may offer her. Organized and determined, she’s proud to be the first person in her family to have obtained a university degree. But her ambitions don't stop there: after graduating in law, she decided to take her dreams further and enroll in the Doble Máster en Abogacía y Procura + Asesoría Jurídica de Empresas Bilingüe (LL.M.).
She chose IE Law School, among other reasons, for its academic excellence and above all its practical teaching methodology. The institution’s collaborative approach and culture of teamwork also stand out. She also believes that, thanks to the personal and professional skills students gain, as well as the personalized support, IE University is “the best bridge to enter the professional world as ready as possible.”
So far, that bridge has manifested itself in two internship programs at prestigious firms such as Monedero Gil & Crespo and Ceca Magán, meeting professionals she admires at both. In her internships she has worked on numerous projects that have helped her learn more about daily life within different legal areas: public and regulatory law, commercial law, corporate governance and regulatory compliance, for example. Furthermore, guided by her internship tutor, the experience has helped her develop a strong and balanced personality, and to develop the tools she needs to become a great lawyer.
For any graduates thinking about studying the same program, she recommends they make the most of every learning opportunity that comes their way. She also advises them to absorb everything they can from their classmates, teachers and the brilliant professionals at IE Law School. If they do, she’s convinced that this dual degree program represents “a turning point, to look ahead and get closer to achieving all their goals.”
She applies this advice to herself, too, as it has, in her own words, made her experience at IE Law School “unbeatable, not only because of the professional quality of the faculty, but also because of the diversity in the classrooms, the teamwork with colleagues and the activities IE University organizes.” All of this makes for an inclusive, innovative and collaborative environment on campus that allows students to develop their abilities to the maximum.
Ready for the future and eager to face new challenges, Nerea expects to join a leading firm in business law when she completes her dual degree master’s program. She would like to develop her professional career in a law firm with an international profile, where she can apply everything she has learned, facing complex challenges with discipline, commitment and enthusiasm. With her empathy, perseverance and desire to contribute to society, we have no doubt she’ll succeed.
