Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming industries across the world, impacting every aspect of our lives. This rapid evolution disrupts existing legal systems and demands new frameworks for law, policy and governance that can respond to AI’s challenges and opportunities by prioritizing ethical considerations, upholding fundamental rights and maximizing societal benefits. 

The AI and the Law Initiative powered by IE Law School, addresses these challenges through education, research, and engagement with the legal community. By integrating AI content into all stages of our curriculum, advancing legal research focused on AI, and fostering dialogue with policymakers, professionals across the legal industry and the public at large, we equip our community to lead in an AI-driven world.  

Currently, the legal profession is particularly affected with AI technologies redefining the traditional practice of law. From predictive analytics to algorithm-assisted document drafting and review, AI is reshaping legal work, highlighting the need for a new model of legal education that adequately prepares the next generation of lawyers to be proficient in AI applications, but also informed about the ethical dimensions of this technology.
