IE Law School and BARBRI extend collaboration to deliver its SQE Prep course
IE Law School extends collaboration with BARBRI to deliver SQE Prep Courses with the aim to support international students and legal professionals looking to cross qualify and practice law internationally.
Law School extends collaboration with the world’s leading legal training provider, BARBRI, to deliver its Solicitor’s Qualifying Exam (SQE) Prep courses- allowing thousands of international students and alumni to prepare for the brand-new examination with confidence.
From September 2021, the SQE examination will replace the Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) and Legal Practice Course (LPC) as the main route to qualification for solicitors in England and Wales, with the first exam commencing November 2021 and running twice per year thereafter.
Soledad Atienza, Dean of the IE Law School said: “By collaborating with BARBRI to deliver the SQE Prep courses, we take a step further in our commitment in offering innovative global legal education and open up new opportunities for students looking to cross-qualify and ensure the highest confidence ahead of sitting the SQE examination”.
“We have complete trust in BARBRI and the work it has done to develop its SQE Prep course. We’re certain that our students and alumni will enjoy this exciting and engaging programme, which will place them on a promising pathway to success”.
Chris Jorgenson, Director of Institutional Partnerships at BARBRI commented: “I’m delighted to confirm that IE Law School will deliver our SQE Prep courses to their students and alumni. These esteemed organisations join a growing list of universities, institutes and professional bodies that we are proud to collaborate with to deliver our SQE Prep course. It is an exciting time for all involved”.
“The SQE is a new route to qualification. So, there are undoubtedly many questions amongst students around what they can expect and how best to prepare. Through partnerships like these, our prep courses can be delivered and accessed worldwide, offering the same opportunities to the thousands of students who will be sitting the exam from this Autumn”.
“We are confident that our preparatory courses will equip students with the right tools, learning schedule and sound knowledge to pass the SQE. We look forward to supporting students worldwide as they look to take the next steps in their legal careers”.
About SQE
The SQE is split into two modules, SQE1 and SQE2, testing individuals on both practical assessments and through multiple-choice questions. BARBRI’s SQE Prep courses cover both of these modules, and its inaugural SQE1 Prep course launched in January 2021 with over 300 students on board.
All prep course options are designed to be fully flexible to suit the individual and are available as 40-week, 20-week and 10-week courses.
