"Digital transformation of the legal industry is expanding globally at such speed that it is becoming increasingly attractive for investors and/or global platforms seeking to compete in domestic markets through the acquisition of startups", says Javier de Cendra

“Legaltech entrepreneurship is acquiring a global dimension, in which entrepreneurs quickly aim to connect with global movements or networks, such as Legal Geeks, Legal Hackers (collaborators of the Global Legaltech Venture Day) or World Justice Project, and seek worldwide exposure in specialized media to attract potential investors and customers. On the one hand, this is possible because most of the problems that these companies seek to solve with their products are similar in many jurisdictions, and therefore it is feasible to find inspiration, talent, and even investors in other countries.  Furthermore, digital transformation of the legal industry is expanding globally at such speed that it is becoming increasingly attractive for investors and/or global platforms seeking to compete in domestic markets through the acquisition of startups” , says  Javier de Cendra, Dean of IE Law School.

The event celebrated in each region aims to strengthen the entrepreneurial and legaltech ecosystem in that given region by connecting the best Startups with investors, institutions, corporations, accelerators and thought leaders in the sector.

During each of the events, five previously selected startups will present their project to a jury that will name a winning startup. The winners of each regional Venture Day will travel to Madrid, all expenses paid, to the final event hosted by IE Law School and Ontier in spring 2020. In this final event, all regional winners will present their projects and face a final jury composed by investors, academics and representatives of the legal industry.

During their stay in Madrid, the seven winners will have the opportunity to share their projects and undergo an immersive experience where they will learn how to develop technological solutions, create new business opportunities and develop a global network of contacts in the sector.

Each winner will have access to a wide network of contacts and investment opportunities to help the growth of their new businesses and benefit from the global network of the Global League of Law Schools, IE Law, South Summit and associated institutions.
