Both programs will be offered to students starting the program in 2021.
IE University’s collaboration agreement with King’s aims to reinforce our commitment to global legal education and offer students prestigious dual programs that will enable them to achieve their career aspirations and take advantage of worldwide opportunities.
Both institutions share the enthusiasm for preparing students for global practice. It is a key component of our educational priorities and reflects the ambitions of the world-class students, who are preparing to work in a transnational context, says, Soledad Atienza, Dean of IE Law School.
This agreement will benefit students from the Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor in Philosophy, Politics, Law and Economics. Under the dual LLB / LLM program, IE University students will finish their program at King’s and undertake their prestigious Master of Laws. Upon completion, they will receive the LLB degree from IE and an LLM from King’s. Furthermore, fourth year students from IE University’s PPLE and King’s LLB in Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) will have the opportunity to study at each other’s campuses during the last year of their respective program, allowing them to expand their network and enhance their global experience.
“This new agreement reflects our commitment to innovation in legal education and strengthens the global approach to legal practice that we promote at IE Law School by training students in comparative law and preparing them to practice law in different jurisdictions”, explains Dean of IE Law School.
Professor Gillian Douglas, Executive Dean, The Dickson Poon School of Law, King’s College London said: “I’m delighted that we have developed this new collaboration with IE Law, which shows our commitment to enabling students to benefit from transnational legal education and to broaden their experience of different legal cultures.”
As members of the Law Schools Global League, both King’s and IE Law School arededicated to the integration of global law in teaching and research. The close partnership between both institutions is evidence of this commitment.
