Francisco de Elizalde is an Associate Professor at IE University Law School, and Director of the Lawtomation Centre.

He focuses on Comparative Private Law, especially contracts. He is a permanent Visiting Professor at Koç University (Turkey) and has held Visiting Professorship positions at City University of Hong Kong and FGV Sao Paulo (Brazil).

Prof. Elizalde was a Visiting Scholar to the University of Cambridge and has conducted research at Harvard Law School and the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law (Germany).

He takes part of Spanish and European research projects. He practiced law at Garrigues Litigation and Arbitration Department during several years.

He is a member of the Madrid Bar Association, of the American Society of Comparative Law and of the European Law Institute.

Prof. Elizalde was the head of the EU-financed Jean Monnet Module “Liability of Robots: a European Vision for a New Legal Regime”.
