Sonsoles Arias Guedón holds a Bachelor degree in Law (2005), and a PhD (2015).
She practiced law for several years since 2005.
Sonsoles is Assistant Professor at IE University Law School where she currently teaches Constitutional Law and Administrative Law as a full-time professor.
Her research interests lie in the field of Comparative Constitutional Law, more specifically in the vertical separation of powers, unitary and federal systems, direct democracy in federal countries and clinical legal education.
She has also published a number of op-ed related to the exercise and the restriction of fundamental rights in the context of the 2019 pandemic, as well as the role of executive powers in times of crisis.
She conducted her research at the University of Cambridge, Harvard Law School, Bucerius Law-School and Ludwig-Maximilians Universität.
Her doctoral dissertation -The Constitutions of the Länder of Germany: Content, guarantees and position in the German legal system, CEPC, 2015, obtained the national recognition in 2015.
