I came here looking for change
We are a month away from the end of the Data Science Bootcamp and I can feel the intensity increasing day by day. First of all, let me introduce myself.
My name is Juan Ignacio Plachesi. I am from Argentina, and after ten years working as an actuary, I decided to completely shift my career. It was at that moment that I took the leap to move to Spain and sign up for the Data Science Bootcamp.
We started classes with high expectations: learn to program, work with a lot of statistics, and also how to work on a team using the Scrum method. It’s impressive to see everything that we’re capable of already with Python—things I’d never imagined I could do.
The fact that the program follows the Liquid Learning format allows us to be ready for any unforeseen circumstances and gives us the flexibility to attend all classes. Teachers and colleagues always do their best so that wherever you are, you can be part of the group.
Each and every day, we’re presented with new challenges that we solve with great enthusiasm. Teamwork, the teachers’ willingness to put forward the best version of themselves and everyone’s desire to learn make this Bootcamp a space where you can develop and grow as a professional.
Facing all sorts of difficulties with your team while completing a project brings you closer to feeling what it’s like to work in a company in real life. It gives you a glimpse of what the future holds for you. It’s the foundation of our learning, understanding what happens in the market and what problems we can solve in a company.
Finally, I am sure that this final stretch of the Bootcamp will be more intense than what I’ve experienced so far. But, I also think it will be the one we enjoy the most as a team, working toward a common goal.
