PROGRAM STRUCTURE
The Advanced Leadership Program in Healthcare follows a unique hybrid learning format that combines the best of online and face-to-face learning, ensuring high-level flexibility that is compatible with your professional activity. This allows you greater flexibility, wherever you are based. The program, in its entirety, will run from February 17-June 19, 2025.
Face-to-face sessions will take place in London at the King’s College London campus between February 17-20, 2025. The program’s second in-person period takes place at IE University’s installation in the heart of Madrid for in-person sessions from June 16-19, 2025. In both cases, classes will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. CET.
Online sessions will take place every Monday from February to June 2025, between 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. CET, with the exception of the April 22nd class, which will be held on Tuesday.
PROGRAM CONTENT
The Advanced Leadership Program in Healthcare aims to unleash the full potential of leaders within the healthcare sector by equipping them with the knowledge, skills and practical capabilities to drive transformation in a rapidly changing sector. Through our comprehensive curriculum, you will be better prepared to understand and leverage various digital transformation and innovation models, develop inventive strategies that improve health outcomes among the population, enhance patient experiences and collaborative stakeholder partnerships, and expand your ability to remain at the forefront of healthcare innovation.
Through a unique combination of online and face-to-face teaching, IE University and King’s College London have joined forces to create a program that focuses on strengthening current skill sets and imparting new ones that will shape leaders who can influence transformation in any organization. The program places an emphasis on “implementation leadership;” you’ll hear from other impactful leaders to learn how they executed the changes and strategies that drove their success.
This curriculum features various modules, designed to take you on a deep dive into several key areas, including:
NAVIGATING COMPLEX LANDSCAPES
This module, which is taught in person at King's College London, will enable you to see the big picture in the healthcare industry, exploring its main challenges in today’s increasingly complex environment. You’ll learn about the emerging local and global trends that are likely to shape the sector, discern the macrotrends, and find out how to create opportunities where others may see a problem. This highly practical module leverages the CAS simulator, covering topics such as value-based healthcare models and complexity science, and also looks at the key area of sustainable healthcare. You’ll take a close look at technology within the healthcare sector, broadening your understanding of digitalization, AI and tech-led transformation.

DELIVERING IMPACT
This fully online module will focus on the advantages of creating social and business value and leveraging opportunities for growth, without losing sight of the organization’s values, purpose and goals. You’ll learn about two strategic planning methodologies—Scenario Planning and the 3 Horizons Framework—to understand the key political, economic, environmental, social and technological forces that shape the world and inform strategy accordingly. You’ll work on your own projects and attend remote classes in which you’ll explore distinct impact cases focused on unlocking innovation in healthcare. These include a study of the Patient Innovation Project, a nonprofit platform that connects patients and caregivers and allows them to share solutions.

LEADING STRATEGIC TRANSFORMATION
We understand that effective leaders need strong strategic skills to make an impact on internal and external stakeholders. This practical and experiential module, taught in person at IE University in Madrid with visits to some of Spain’s top hospitals, will help you to hone those skills, leading you to shape, inspire, engage and create significant outcomes through collaborative partnership models. You’ll explore key areas including how to make a positive impact on and integrate stakeholders, as well as honing your negotiation skills.
