In this three-month journey, participants will navigate six core modules dedicated to the intersection of AI with emerging regulations, compliance requirements and legal tech applications.

  • This module explores how technology is transforming information management in legal systems. It examines computational law, legal AI, and the impact of technological advances on legal services. Content covers the LegalTech landscape, computable contracts, big data law, and algorithmic fairness/accountability. The module consists of three avatar recorded sessions and two live sessions addressing these critical areas of technological innovation in law.

  • This module provides an overview of the main regulatory actors, jurisdictions, instruments and approaches on AI. It offers a comprehensive look at different regulatory approaches (adaptive, outcome-based, precautionary) and instruments (legal, self and co-regulation) used this technology. Through role-playing exercises, participants will impersonate policy stakeholders to better understand benefits, risks and trade-offs between these approaches and instruments. The module will consist of two avatar-led recorded sessions and two live sessions.

  • This module provides a comprehensive analysis of the EU AI Act, the world's first complete AI regulatory framework. It examines how European regulators address unique challenges posed by AI systems through a risk-based approach. Students will analyze specific obligations for AI developers and deployers through relevant case studies, from prohibited applications to high-risk system requirements. the course explores the Act's legislative background, risk classification system, and compliance frameworks. The module will consist of two avatar-led recorded sessions and two live sessions examining these critical regulatory developments.

  • The module provides a comprehensive overview of AI liability regimes, with particular focus on the EU's evolving regulatory landscape. It examines foundational liability concepts, challenges in attributing responsibility for algorithmic harm, and emerging legal frameworks. Through diverse case studies and scenarios—from autonomous vehicles to medical diagnostics—participants will explore liability allocation across the AI value chain. The module will consist of one avatar-led recorded session and one live session analyzing these critical liability questions.

  • This module provides a comprehensive analysis of the tensions between GDPR's AI provisions and the EU's AI Act. It examines how risk assessment methodologies differ across regulations, explores conflicting transparency requirements, analyzes compliance challenges for bias mitigation, and evaluates human oversight requirements and liability distribution across the AI value chain. The module will consist of one avatar-led recorded session and one live session addressing these critical regulatory intersections.

  • This module examines the emerging field of legal prompting for AI systems, focusing on crafting effective instructions for legal analysis, document review, and regulatory compliance. Participants explore prompt engineering techniques specifically designed for legal contexts, ethical considerations in delegation to AI, and limitations of current systems. Through case studies spanning contract analysis, legal research, and regulatory implementation, participants will develop practical skills in AI-assisted legal work. The module includes one live session demonstrating advanced prompting techniques for different legal scenarios.

  • This module surveys cutting-edge legal technology applications transforming legal practice. Participants will examine AI-powered contract lifecycle management, predictive analytics for litigation outcomes, and automated regulatory compliance tools. Through case studies spanning law firms and corporate legal departments, participants will analyze how technology is reshaping legal service delivery. The course covers implementation challenges, ethical considerations, and emerging trends in legal automation. The module includes one live session showcasing real-world deployment of advanced legal tech solutions across different practice areas and organizational contexts.
