Laura Juanes Micas is a highly respected leader in privacy, cybersecurity, and AI governance, with over 20 years of experience bridging the U.S. and Spain.

A passionate advocate for ethical governance and innovation, she is the founder of Global Privacy & Policy Consulting, where she helps organizations navigate complex regulatory landscapes while fostering trust and compliance. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of Caixabank Payments and Consumer, a leading consumer finance firm in Spain and Portugal, and on the Advisory Board of eeaig.org, a nonprofit based in Palo Alto dedicated to advancing ethical AI practices.

Laura’s executive career spans senior leadership roles at some of the world’s most recognized global brands, including Yahoo!, Meta, and Restaurant Brands International (RBI)—owner of Burger King, Popeyes, and Tim Hortons. Across these organizations, she has shaped regulatory strategies, led global privacy frameworks, and engaged with policymakers worldwide, driving innovation and compliance in the evolving digital landscape.

She has shared her expertise as a speaker and panelist at global think tanks and international fora, including the G-20 Summit, the Organization of American States (OAS), the Global Privacy Assembly, the International Association of Privacy Professionals, the Practising Legal Institute, and the Center for Information Policy Leadership.
