Ainhoa Iscar
My name is Ainhoa Iscar and I’ve been working in human resources for seven years. During this time, I’ve focused on implementing new projects related to talent management and supporting companies with strategies to manage their professionals. I want to continue to grow and educate myself for the future, and I think that the Strategic Human Resources Management Program is what I need.
"My time at IE helped me discover that there are (almost) no limits to innovation."
Ainhoa is a human resources professional. With almost ten years of experience, she’s held positions of responsibility at Spanish and international companies, and she has experience in all aspects of personnel management, from hiring and talent training processes, to drafting policies and strategic plans.
Why did you decide to further your education at IE?
I decided to further my education because after seven years of working in HR, I thought I had a foundation and enough experience to go a step further. I wanted an education that was different from before. My experience is based largely on technical, day-to-day aspects, and that’s why I needed training in strategy and management to meet my objectives for the future. Why at IE? Because you either do things the right way or there’s no point in doing them at all, and from my point of view, IE has the best faculty and the best professionals from the HR world to teach me innovation and strategy.
Do you think that your time at IE has changed your focus in your career?
Completely. It has enriched me both personally and professionally. Above all, it’s helped me discover that there are (almost) no limits to innovation, and it’s allowed me to see that there are big companies that are on people’s side, which has motivated me a lot.
What is your current professional status?
I’m currently still working at the company I was before I started the program, but now I’m actively looking for work. I’m not in a hurry, I have a good job and I work alongside an admirable person, but I need to find a company with values that are similar to mine and that allows me to also develop myself professionally.
What is the most valuable lesson you learned during the program? Do you have any inspiring stories you’d like to share with your classmates?
For me, the best lesson, aside from the knowledge I acquired, was personal: I’ve shared this experience with people who have a true passion for HR, who are excellent professionals in the sector, who all have such a great connection with people, and who still want to grow and continue learning, which has been amazing.
