Cooperation with other institutions, whether in the development of research, its dissemination, or in the necessary debate and reflection, is essential in order to realistically approach society’s problems and provide solutions that contribute to alleviating them. The impact generated by collaborating grows exponentially and is of greater added value as it is based on a broader vision.
Presentation of the Report: "The Finances of Spanish Digital Natives and Millennials"
On September 7th, 2023, the 5th Report of the Observatory was presented at the Paper Pavilion of the IE, which analyzes the level of financial literacy of young adults in Spain.
Young adults have already achieved independence and autonomy in their lives, while also having more time ahead than the rest of the population to develop financial habits that contribute to securing their future and allowing them to make the choices they desire throughout their lives. Therefore, studying this group from the perspective of their behavior and financial literacy is relevant because they still have time to activate the necessary levers for change to manage their lives, taking into account the financial consequences of their decisions.

WORKSHOP “FINANCES FOR LIFE AND HOUSEHOLD”
Last September 20, 2022, the Household Savings Observatory conducted the workshop “Finances for Life and CASA”, in the framework of the CASA FILM ARTS FESTIVAL organized by the IE Gender Equality Office and the Chamber of Commerce of Segovia and with the collaboration of IE Campus Life, the City Council of Segovia and the Junta de Castilla y León. The workshop was led by the director of the OAF and IE professor, Laura Núñez, with the participation of María José Tapia, president of the Segovia Chamber of Commerce, and Soraya Polanco, director of the IE Gender Equality Office, and took place at the IE University Creativity Center, located in the Real Casa de la Moneda in Segovia.
The households, small businesses and students who attended were able to experience, discuss and reflect on the importance of managing the family budget and setting savings goals for different purposes, as well as on the desirability of improving our financial capabilities. Maltman Brewing a company that manufactures craft beers from its brewery in El Espinar, Segovia, joined us for the event to whom we would like to thank for their contribution to quench our thirst with the delicious craft beer 3 cumbres.
