IE University co-organizes South Summit Scaleup Series in key European cities

The month of March saw the first three events of the second annual South Summit Scaleup Series, an entrepreneurship roadshow co-organized by IE University. These events, organized in top European cities starting with Brussels, Milan and London, invited key players in the entrepreneurial ecosystem to come together and discuss the unique trends, opportunities, and challenges present in each city and region.  

Brussels, Milan & London: hubs of innovation 

The kickoff event took place in central Brussels and saw panel discussions between founders, investors, corporate partnership strategists and more. Among the impressive attendees were Dr. Andreas Schwarz, Head of the Cabinet of Bulgarian Commissioner Zaharieva; Stijn Christiaens, co-founder and Chief Data Officer at Collibra; Zhong Xu, co-founder and CEO at Deliverect; and Laurens de Poorter, Partner at Kraken Ventures and Founder at Syndicate One.  

Over in Milan, Bocconi University hosted our second stop of the series, with fascinating talks from guests such as Christian Mayor, Vice President at Growth Capital; Lidia Pieri, Co-Founder & CEO at Sibylla Biotech; and Daniela Colombo, Director of the Entrepreneurship & Innovation Center at Microsoft. We heard insightful advice from thriving founders who put a strong emphasis on embracing chaos and developing bulletproof storytelling for your brand. 

Finally, in the UK, we had the pleasure of holding our event in conjunction with Dawn Capital in the heart of London. Attendees heard from top speakers, including but not limited to JC Glancy, Founder at ZenBusiness; Dan Wagner, Founder & CEO at Rezolve AI; and Susan Lin, Partner & Investor at Felix Capital. 

Strengthening bonds & driving innovation 

The South Summit Scaleup Series aims to strengthen connections between entrepreneurs and investors, creating a space to share insights, advice, and best practices. The roadshow also encourages guests to attend the flagship South Summit event in Madrid on June 4-7th, where thousands of players in the entrepreneurial ecosystem come together for several days of talks, panel discussions, pitch competitions, and networking opportunities. 

With these initiatives, South Summit and IE University strive to make a positive impact on society through education and entrepreneurship by offering opportunities for the development of new ideas, the creation of startups, and the scalability of innovative projects.
