UNSSC and IE University Renew Collaboration to Accelerate Action toward the Achievement of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development
IE University and the United Nations System Staff College (UNSSC) have signed a new collaboration agreement, consolidating and expanding their joint commitment to promote sustainable development through education, research, and innovation.
The agreement, signed by Manuel Muñiz, Provost of IE University, and Jafar Javan, Director of UNSSC, focuses on the consolidation and delivery of their shared portfolio of educational programs, including the Bachelor in International Relations, the Master in International Development, and the recently launched Executive Master in International Development.
“Our renewed partnership with the United Nations System Staff College underscores our commitment to providing top-tier educational programs that address the most pressing global issues. Together, we are shaping the leaders of tomorrow.“
Manuel Muñiz, Provost at IE University
The partnership combines the unique strengths of both institutions. IE University contributes its academic excellence, global perspective, and innovative mindset, ensuring a high-quality transformative experience. Meanwhile, UNSSC further enhances the programs by providing in-depth knowledge of the United Nations System, offering sessions with UN professionals, visits to UN offices, capstone projects with a diversity of UN entities, professional mentoring, and extracurricular activities, enabling students to dive into real-world practice.
In particular, UNSSC co-designed the Executive Master in International Development, which caters to professionals from the UN System and beyond that aim at upscaling their skills and competencies in light of an evolving multilateral system, which is called to address complex challenges, which transcend boarders and require systemic solutions.
“By combining our expertise and resources, we are creating unique learning opportunities that will empower current and future professionals to drive sustainable development and make a positive impact worldwide.“
Mr. Jafar Javan, Director of UNSSC
This new agreement builds on the achievements of the past seven years of collaboration between IE and the UNSSC, while also strengthening the recently renewed broader partnership between IE and the UN Secretariat, where the UNSSC plays a significant role.
