David Finkel is Managing Director at Talus Real Estate in Spain. Prior to joining Talus, he served as a Managing Principal in Westbrook Partners and participated in acquisition, value enhancement and realization activities within the United Kingdom and Europe.
Previously, David also was Managing Director of iStar Europe in London and ran iStar Financial’s (NYSE: SFI) European business. He also served as Director in the Asset Finance Group of Nomura International in London, where he led the origination, structuring and execution of a diverse range of lending and sale-leaseback transactions across Europe. Before joining Nomura, David worked for Goldman Sachs’ Whitehall Funds, both in London and in the United States.
Holding an AB cum laude from Harvard College David has earned his degrees from both Harvard University and Texas A&M University. He specializes in global private real estate assets, principal investment strategies employed by fund managers, fund structures, sourcing capital for private real estate fundraising, and the different types of capital used by private funds.
David Finkel currently teaches about Private Equity in Real Estate in the Global Masters in Real Estate Development program at IE school of Architecture and Design.
