“At IE School of Architecture & Design, we want to build a fairer, more beautiful and more sustainable world through the creative industries. It fills us with immense joy to know we will soon have a new space in Segovia, our Creative Campus, in a building of the stature of the Palacio de los Condes de Mansilla. This new space will promote creativity and take advantage of synergies between various disciplines.”

“Our students will learn through co-creation, project design, manufacturing and materials research, among many other projects. In addition, they will develop creativity and critical thinking in a unique and stimulating ecosystem.”
David Goodman, Dean of IE School of Architecture and Design

Goodman highlights the location of the new Creative Campus in the center of the UNESCO World heritage city, an enclave "that will facilitate the integration of our students and teachers, the development of projects for Segovia and for the people of Segovia. Our students, from all over the world, will work in collaboration with companies, cultural institutions and NGOs. The Creative Campus will be open to the city.” Currently, students and professors of IE School of Architecture and Design are actively working in Segovia through the D-Lab in the design, manufacture and assembly of projects for schools, public institutions and civic associations.

Palacio de los Condes de Mansilla

The Palacio de los Condes de Mansilla, built between the 12th and 18th centuries and restored in the 1970s, is located within the walls of Segovia, a few meters from the Plaza Mayor. It is part of the city's Historic-Artistic Heritage and covers some 5,300 m2, combining Romanesque and Mudejar elements on the lower floor that include spectacular stone arches that divide vaulted spaces. The palace underwent a significant renovation in the 18th century and was extended. For 40 years, the building housed an institution of higher education and was home to the Domingo de Soto University College. The rehabilitation project, which is expected to be completed in [CONFIRM DATE], includes rehabilitation, conditioning and distribution of spaces.

“The new Creative Campus reflects IE University's strong commitment to education, research and innovation. This unique space brings together centuries of history in Segovia and will soon be equipped with technological solutions applied to architecture and design. The Creative Campus will facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration and the work of our students, who come from 160 countries, and of our professors and researchers with companies, cultural institutions and NGOs, locally and internationally,” said Salvador Carmona, Rector of IE University.
