In this course, we will examine how information technology (IT) has both transformed how organizations compete and emerged as an important factor in management decisions at all levels of the business. Moreover, our economy is sometimes called the "digital economy," which indicates the pervasive nature and the critical role of IT in business strategies and operations. Technology has also changed how people communicate, collaborate and coordinate work activities. How are companies reacting to this disruption? This course will help you analyze the application of technology in its broader context of business transformation drivers and apply it to your own sphere of influence.

The key learning objectives you will be introduced to are the critical elements of understanding, designing and developing business models in the new digital world.

Digital business models: understanding a business model and describing its basic components, as well as the impact of digital technologies in new business models.

Technology, social and economic factors: identifying and understanding the economic and technological factors at the heart of the digital disruption of the economy; changes such as the sharing economy, mobile strategy and empowerment of individuals are key.

Business model design: understanding and applying concepts, tools and techniques to design appropriate digital business models.

Platforms and ecosystems: evaluating the "platform revolution" that is taking place in different industries.

This course is divided into two tightly integrated blocks, the first of which examines why some companies perform better than others in a digital world. This block will introduce the main concepts, theoretical frameworks and analytical tools that allow participants to understand how firms gain and sustain a competitive advantage in a digital ecosystem, as well as the key elements of successful execution. It will cover the main theories, models and tools in the field of strategy, with a strong emphasis on application to complex real-world situations. You will be able to:

          • Connect strategy to business value, describe the main elements of a firm's strategy and evaluate its internal, external and dynamic consistency.
          • Define and analyze the determinants of industry profit.
          • Recognize and analyze the sources of competitive advantage.
          • Understand how diversification or vertical integration decisions can help corporations create or improve their competitive advantage.
          • Identify the main elements that characterize a successful execution.
          • Apply these concepts to technology-intensive industries and companies.

The course's second block provides a series of strategic frameworks for managing technology in organizations to create, capture and deliver value. The emphasis throughout the course is on the development and application of conceptual models that clarify the interactions between competition, technology trends and market dynamics, and the structure and development of organizational capabilities driven by the right decision on technology acquisition, technology management and technology outsourcing strategies.

You will gain a set of tools for identifying high-leverage projects, aligning technology strategy with the business ecosystem, capturing market value and changing organizational capabilities to reflect evolving markets and technological disruptions.

The lines between technology and business are becoming increasingly blurred. Today, it’s almost impossible to consider exponential business transformation without keeping a technology-driven approach in mind. In this course, our goal is to analyze the technological foundations that are enabling these new business models and enhancing the overall operations of top companies around the world. You will learn to understand how areas such as cloud, big data, robotics, blockchain, AI and APIs are reshaping business models and be able to apply this knowledge to the business operations within your own company.

What is innovation management? How do enterprises bring in new business models, products and services to the market? How can companies shorten the idea lifecycle? Through innovation management concepts, theories of idea generation, selection, strategy formulation and implementation, this course will look at innovation management terminology and concepts, the impact of business innovation on the individual, management frameworks, and how companies must be structured for continuous and sustainable innovation. The increasing pace of innovation is having a significant impact on all industries. More ubiquitous and cheaper technology is changing the way companies do business and creating new opportunities for niche players who have never played in the enterprise space. Innovation is no longer limited to R&D departments, especially as new business innovation methodologies, such as open, agile and co-creation, are helping us to democratize the development of innovation across the enterprise. The objective of this course is to cover these frameworks and the different aspects to consider in the innovation process, from how to build an innovation culture that fosters creativity to which technologies are more impactful in accelerating innovation. Our methodology will use practical examples and press articles to challenge students to consider the opportunities and impacts that technology brings to all businesses.

In this course, you will learn how to successfully manage digital transformation initiatives. These essential transformation strategies involve many factors, including the culture, attitudes and learning curves faced by professionals leading and collaborating in innovative environments in the digital era. From a leadership perspective, we will analyze both corporate and personal changes needed to achieve overall organizational transformation. This change stems from the goal of a successful leader to manifest a sense of belonging on a personal level in order to earn the full investment and cooperation of all professionals involved in the transformation of a company. We will thoroughly analyze the process of creating a positive, dynamic and enthusiastic atmosphere in which individuals are open to change, as this is the key to reversing any hesitations, complaints or stagnant attitudes. With a very practical focus, we will discuss case studies and apply what we have learned to the best examples and practices in the industry. All of these skills will be acquired through hands-on experience rather than theory. We will also interact with leading professionals and hear their stories of success and failure when dealing with change management in digital transformation projects.

The media is constantly publishing stories related to data privacy following data breaches. As a result, these stories have raised awareness that companies should not have access to all data available online. Technology is always faster than regulation, but breaches such as the Facebook data scandal have detrimental repercussions for societies governments and companies. Therefore, some form of regulation and law is needed to better understand and manage this uncharted territory. Moreover, we cannot forget the ethics involved in this new reality, since we, the users, are in the frontline, thanks to these constant technological advances. In this course, we will discuss these concerns and develop a new understanding of what is ethical and what is not. Digital transformation entails the use of data and technology to conduct business more efficiently and generate new opportunities. Digital transformation must consider a wide range of regulations, including data protection, consumer law and contract law, among others. Legal issues such as compliance and data security should be top priorities in any assessment of digital transformation initiatives. In this course, you will learn:

          1. The nuts and bolts of digital transformation from a legal perspective (you don't have to be a lawyer).

          2. How digital transformation impacts data privacy (and what data privacy is actually about).

          3. The challenges and opportunities that digital transformation entails from a legal standpoint.

Throughout this course, we will help you understand all the concepts that are important within a data-driven company and why they are relevant today in our digital economy. In addition, we will evaluate the new role that technology, algorithms and analytics play in the overall management of a business or company. We will teach you how to build a data strategy within your own company and how to use it as a powerful tool to change decision-making techniques. We will also learn how to use past and present data to gain insights into the overall performance of your business and the behavioral patterns of your customers. Our objective is to understand how to anticipate and proactively engage with customers to create the "wow" effect.

In this course, students will become familiar with the goals, fundamental features and design of finance, management accounting and management control systems, as well as the various ways in which the data provided by management decisions can be used. It’s important to have a solid understanding of these elements to properly interpret the output of such systems and turn it into useful information and knowledge. Without this understanding, there is a risk that data will be misinterpreted or misused, leading to inaccurate decision-making.

Successful companies develop their competitive advantage and differentiation strategy by understanding their customers' needs and prioritizing them as the core of all business-related activities. In today's digital environment, knowing how to translate these needs, trends and insights into future business opportunities is crucial. In this course, you will learn how to drive customer-centric innovation in the marketplace. We will explore the principles of business and customer orientation and analyze the strategies that leading companies are implementing in a highly competitive and dynamic economy. You will learn how to create and capture customer value, engage customers in new product development processes and apply successful approaches based on case studies.

This course has two closely related blocks. In the first block, you will analyze not only the value propositions, analogies and differences of the main successful online business models, but also the main features to successfully manage these platforms to reach maximum ROI, both in B2B and B2C scenarios. You will be able to calculate the costs, potential ROI, technology, human resources and marketing strategies needed to successfully define and implement an international e-commerce strategy that is fully integrated with the company's overall strategy. In the second block, you will explore the concepts of a digital marketing strategy and its ramifications, understanding the evolving digital media ecosystem, the various existing business models, and the key relevance of digital media advertising to marketing today. You will also gain a thorough understanding of the funnel model—a structured framework for defining an effective digital media strategy. You will become familiar with the different audiences, strategies, tools and platforms along the funnel, with a particular focus on the top and middle of the funnel. You will gain an understanding of data-driven advertising and how it is powered by data and ad tech, and learn about the key elements of programmatic media buying and the potential of different data-driven creative strategies. Today, search engines are one of the main pillars of digital go-to-market, as they determine how visible and reachable your business is compared to your competitors. You will gain the essential skills needed to create search strategies, both organic (SEO) and paid (SEM), as well as learn how to analyze a site's SEO and SEM campaign optimization score and create a SEM campaign.

This course will focus on (a) the identification, modeling, analysis and (re)design of business processes; and (b) following BPM practice, the implementation of related technology solutions in organizations to automate and improve processes. In this context, we will look at technology and how building a process map can enable organizations to further develop and enhance their business processes, both on an inter-organizational level and on an intra-organizational level, thereby facilitating the development of extended organizational networks. The course will provide you with the knowledge and skills to analyze, design, transform and manage business processes to achieve breakthrough improvements in effectiveness, efficiency and adaptability while building a KPI map for tracking improvements.

Throughout this course, you will learn how to successfully develop a global and digital environment within your own business in order to increase its overall value. We will walk you through all the necessary protocols needed to create a strategy, successfully execute it and ultimately make it a reality. We will guide you through the entire process, including how to develop a strong vision and purpose. Another part of the course will discuss the specific technology needed to improve and transform your business and how to use it. In the end, you will understand what tools and skills are needed to mobilize any organization.

How can a large company function while constantly changing? What kind of skills and governance models are needed for new digital operating models? Is it possible to compete with companies like Amazon or Google when they enter your sector? Do you know how to harness the power of communication and knowledge sharing to ensure digital transformation? In this course, we will analyze all the essential strategies and best practices needed to transform old-fashioned operations and develop new business models. We will discuss topics ranging from the WHY of digital transformation to the end-to-end principle and its framework (P&L, customer approach, organizational charts and governance model, front and back processes, business planning, methodologies, skills required, etc.).

This course focuses on certain aspects of human behavior at both the individual and interpersonal levels. In particular, it addresses issues such as influencing and persuading others, building teams and organizational structures that engage people, managing the dilemmas that arise between focus and diversity, and leading change. Developing these skills requires perspective-taking, empathy and open-mindedness, which is why there is also a focus on mindfulness and self-awareness. In addition to learning about frameworks and practices, you will be expected to fully engage in self-assessments, simulations, discussions and group exercises.

Digital transformation isn't just limited to the frontline areas of the business, sales, marketing or customer service. Therefore, throughout this course, students will develop a deeper understanding of the many different approaches companies are taking to improve operations, maximize efficiency and achieve excellence. Because digital transformation requires leadership across the entire organization, you will also learn the various key aspects of leading transformation in finance, human resources and legal areas. Additionally, you will learn to differentiate the many different approaches that companies are adopting and design a transformation roadmap for a company based on support functions.

This course focuses on integrating digital technologies to improve operational excellence. Spanning 10 sessions, it explores the challenges, opportunities and strategies for digital transformation in operations. Key topics include the importance of a data-driven culture, digital supply chain management, robotic process automation (RPA) and Industry 4.0. The course combines theoretical knowledge with practical case studies and interactive discussions, highlighting current trends and best practices. Evaluation is based on class participation, group projects and a final exam, fostering a collaborative and applied learning environment.

The rise of connected devices and changing customer preferences have driven digital transformation globally. The global pandemic accelerated technology adoption and moved companies to remote work, uncovering opportunities and high-end capabilities for competitive advantage and growth. The exponential increase in cybercrime follows this trend in technology adoption. This course will equip you with the foundational cybersecurity knowledge needed for your day-to-day as individuals and future leaders. Because cybersecurity is everyone's responsibility, we will also delve into the broader concept of risk management, in which cybersecurity plays a key role.

The goal of this course is to enable students to meet the industry's requirements for implementing new and smart technologies, emphasizing real-world use cases from existing companies. We will cover all the relevant concepts and technologies, including robotics, AI and the Internet of Things, as well as all the key industry jargon and acronyms.

In this course, you will gain a solid understanding of blockchain technology and its market. Putting theory into practice, you will need to determine if blockchain would be an effective addition to the technology strategy for a given organization. We will look at real-world use cases of blockchain today, as well as cryptocurrencies, fintech and smart contracts.

This course will focus on the major applications of machine learning and artificial intelligence, including the differences between supervised and unsupervised models. We will explain how to build these types of scripts and how to use them in a real business context. You will learn about clustering, classification and regression predictive models, and will evaluate different models to check accuracy.
