This course offers the participants the opportunity of learning by doing through a real case in an specific organisation. Participants will act as HR/Talent strategic advisors for that specific organization with the guidance of a professor and will iterate with the organization as consultants.

They will be also exposed to the ethical and legal implications of utilizing metaverse and extended reality technologies in HR.

We will investigate the scientific method in creating assessments for workplace use, and we will look at a wide variety of psychometric tools and applications. To obtain this learning students will: 1. Identify the key values linked to success in your organization and translate them into a series of objectively observable behaviors. 2. Investigate evaluation tools, classical and new, of proven utility, to address the potential candidates in their selection and promotion, and in the creation of high-performance work teams. 3. Students will learn how to design and execute Corporate Wellbeing and Engagement Programs and how to identify appropriate metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure program effectiveness. They will play with Happy Force, an employee engagement tool that will help them to understand the connection between data and employee engagement strategies and activities.

Students will examine the challenges and opportunities of communicating with stakeholders from diverse cultural backgrounds within the talent development and human resources field. The course aims to develop strategies for effective stakeholder engagement, conflict resolution, and relationship-building, while considering cultural norms, values, and communication styles.
This course is designed to provide a practical perspective of learning and development principles as seen in the workplace today. Using case studies drawn from real companies, students will explore key concepts related to adult learners, solution design, delivery methods, and measurement. The course will also cover topics frequently requested of L&D including leadership development, onboarding, and upskilling.

Wellbeing in Practice is designed to introduce the concept of well-being and its impact in our ability to thrive, be healthy, feel good, connect with our self & others and to contribute to our learning, teams and community at IE & beyond. The workshop is focused on how to develop skills to have a better life and invest in being your best self. We need to be present, curious and brave, to reflect and gain insights as to our values and what is important to being our best. We ask that technology be put away to focus our attention on increasing awareness of emotions and to train positive practices for flourishing. We also ask that we foster a safe environment for open dialogue, kindness and exploration around well-being and how we can build practices into each of our unique lives.
Global Immersion Week is a one-week, international experience that allows students to explore new cultures, network with leading companies and acquire valuable career insights. You’ll gain a firsthand look at the career outcomes you can pursue in relevant international business markets, connecting with leading companies in various sectors. Previous collaborative partners have included Google, Ipsos, Amazon, Diageo and the Financial Times.
The optional HR Social Impact Week is your opportunity to participate in purpose-driven projects in Africa’s fastest-growing economies and notable business hubs. In a week-long experience, you’ll meet policymakers and top business leaders in the region, as well as members of the local IE Alumni community. In the past, Social Impact Week destinations have included Ghana and South Africa. OUR ACADEMIC DIRECTOR
Itziar Vizcaino is a senior talent and HR leader with over 25 years of broad and diverse experience in different functions, including legal, HR, talent and diversity, equality and inclusion. Itziar has worked in a wide range of industries—consultancy, telecommunications, beauty and financial services—all over the world, including Europe, the Middle East & Africa (EMEA), Latin America (LATAM) and Asia. She is experienced in leading organizational and cultural transformations and upgrading talent practices, leadership behaviors and employee experiences. Her current role is global diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) lead for Asia & EMEA, and global DEI lead for Learning & Development, at MetLife.
Itziar is the academic director for the Master in Talent Development & Human Resources at IE University. She is also a professor, teaching DEI and Change Management within the Master in Talent Development & Human Resources. Furthermore, Itziar instructs Human Resources DEI workshops within the Executive Master in Strategic Marketing & Communication, the Master in Business Analytics & Data Science, and several corporate programs. She is also an associate professor at Headspring Executive Development. Itziar received the Best Professor Award in 2018 from IE School of Science & Technology and picked up consecutive Teaching Excellence Awards in 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022. She is a co-author of Diversity with Inclusion in Organizations, published by Coursera.

WHAT IS THE MASTER IN TALENT DEVELOPMENT & HUMAN RESOURCES CLASS PROFILE?
The Master in Talent Development & HR is a business program aimed at young professionals who have completed their bachelor's degree. The average student on the program has around 4 years of professional experience, but some of our students will have just graduated with little to no experience in the workplace, while others will have 7+ years of experience. The program is open to students of any academic and/or professional background, to enrich both their experience and the diversity of the class. Our students have an average age of 26 and come from a wide range of professional backgrounds.
CAN I UNDERTAKE THIS PROGRAM WITHOUT AN HR BACKGROUND OR EXPERIENCE?
Yes, the Master in Talent Development & HR is open to students with an undergraduate degree in any field, regardless of whether they have worked in the HR sector before. This helps enrich the program experience and class diversity.
WHAT IS THE LENGTH OF THE MASTER IN TALENT DEVELOPMENT & HUMAN RESOURCES?
The Master in Talent Development & HR is a full-time, 10-month program taught in Madrid, that starts in September (finishing in July).
