Felipe Escorihuela

About me

My name is Felipe Escorihuela and I’m from Zaragoza, a city in the northeast of Spain. I’d describe myself as a person who strives to accomplish my personal best and who is always interested in learning new things. As an innately curious person, I’ve always been interested in being aware of what’s happening in my surroundings and all around the world. I enjoy traveling and getting to know new places, people and culture, so naturally, my areas of interest include geography, history and global affairs. I’m currently pursuing the Master in International Relations.

Around the world in 10 months

Felipe Escorihuela is the perfect candidate for a program in international relations. Fascinated by different cultures and people around the world, the Spanish native has always longed to travel far and wide, learning as much as possible. So it’s no surprise that he opted to complete a Double Degree in Law + Business Administration and Management at the University of Zaragoza, which included a study abroad experience in Tampere, Finland.

This undergraduate experience gave Felipe a “comprehensive view and a strong and rigorous academic background in both the legal and economic and business worlds.” His time abroad in Finland, on the other hand, allowed him to broaden his mindset and live in an international and innovative environment. During his bachelor’s studies he also had the chance to complete several internships: in a strategic consultancy, in a law firm and in the EU department of the Chamber of Commerce of Zaragoza.

Once he graduated from his bachelor’s, it was time for Felipe to find the perfect master’s program to complement his undergraduate studies. The 10-month Master in International Relations at IE University was the perfect fit. He knew that the program would give him “the necessary tools and formation to strengthen my previous education, enabling me to initiate a future career with a global perspective.” He also cites the learning methodology, the opportunities on offer and the university’s prestige as reasons to enroll. Plus, it didn’t hurt that he felt aligned with IE University’s values, “where innovation, entrepreneurship or cultural diversity are extremely important.”

“I chose The Master in International Relations because I knew it would give me the necessary tools and formation to strengthen my previous education, enabling me to initiate a future career with a global perspective.”

Once enrolled in the program, Felipe’s suspicions were confirmed: the Master in International Relations has given him an excellent global perspective, exciting opportunities to participate in diverse events, and the chance to collaborate with top companies and international organizations. On top of all that, he’s had a very rewarding personal experience, making friends from all over the world who come from different cultures as well as academic and professional backgrounds. These interactions have taught the young Spanish student to always consider different perspectives on the same issue, in order to come up with the best possible solution.

So what does the future hold for Felipe? After graduating from the program, he’d like to work in a field related to public affairs—whether in the private sector or in an international organization. He’s grateful for all the professional guidance he’s received from IE University, and feels confident that the excellent education he has gained will help him achieve all his goals.

Best of luck, Felipe!
