IFC and IE University will develop and implement academic initiatives to foster social and economic prosperity.
IE University and the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group focused on private sector development in emerging markets, have joined forces in a transformative partnership aimed at promoting sustainable social and economic prosperity, with a focus on emerging markets. This agreement paves the way for career opportunities for students at IE University, including IE’s School of Politics, Economics and Global Affairs and IE Business School, empowering the next generation of leaders to build a more sustainable and inclusive future.
"By working together, IFC and IE University are creating new opportunities to connect academia with the world of international finance, supporting careers and projects that foster inclusive and sustainable prosperity."
Manuel Muñiz Villa, Provost of IE University
This collaboration seeks to enhance the alignment of academic programs with IFC’s areas of work, fostering a closer connection between the academic field and professional sector needs.
"Today marks a significant milestone in our ongoing collaboration with IE University. Through joint initiatives, career opportunities outreach, and academic collaborations, we are not just building a partnership; we are creating a dynamic ecosystem that bridges academia and industry, fostering innovation and excellence," added Alfonso García Mora, Regional Vice President for Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean at IFC.
"By actively engaging with students and providing them with valuable career opportunities, we are ensuring that our collaboration yields impactful outcomes and prepares the next generation of leaders. We look forward to the continued success of our collaboration and the transformative results it will bring."
Alfonso García Mora, Regional Vice President for Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean at IFC
The agreement will help showcase career opportunities for IE University students by promoting IFC’s flagship recruitment programs, career fairs and events focused on finance, sustainability, and multilateral organizations. Additionally, the new partnership will enable collaboration on capstone projects, supporting final projects or theses by IE students that align with IFC’s mandate areas. The collaboration will enhance the development and implementation of the Bachelor in Economics, the Master in Applied Economics, and the Master in Sustainability and Business Transformation.
The partnership will also enhance the participation of IFC’s experts in workshops, seminars, conferences, and similar events hosted at IE University; as well as support immersion weeks and site visits to IFC offices, facilitating organized visits for IE University’ students to IFC’s offices in Europe, particularly Paris, Vienna, and London. These interactions will strengthen students’ exposure to real-world practices and foster connections with professionals in the field.
