“The greatest social challenges haven’t yet been resolved“

Everyday around the world many Organizations and Social Enterprises strive to tackle issues that affect the most vulnerable populations and transform them into global opportunities.

4itwillbe is a social enterprise which developed the product called People Protection App (PPa). This product functions using biometric technology to accurately record the data of individuals. Using three complimentary biometric measurement tools facial recognition, fingerprint and most exclusively the palm vein pattern, PPa aims to offer foolproof, accurate and high quality data to vulnerable populations.

The aim of our report is to provide the reader with a deep understanding of the 4itwillbe brand, mission and project and through our research, offer insights on how to improve, strategically expand and envision the product long-term.

The report is divided into two main sections. The first of the two focuses on PPa as it currently is and how to enhance present operations; while, the second focuses on the future of PPa.

INTERVIEW TIME!

  • The interaction with the social enterprise has been one of the most interesting aspects of this project. It has been fascinating to have the chance to step into their reality to fully understand every aspect of their work. We have had the chance to understand their main challenges, their aspirations, and have contributed to their work while also feeling part of a team. Moreover, being mentored by Arancha Martinez (Tiwtter & Linkedin) Founder and Director of the organization, has been a great advantage that enabled us to obtain even better results.

  • Including three young professionals in an established environment is a very interesting “experiment” to do. Both parts can greatly contribute to the advancement and improvement of one another. While on one hand our team has had the chance to be fully involved with the social enterprise and learn about their different dynamics, mechanisms, rules, on the other hand we contributed to bringing innovative and fresh ideas to the environment. This exchange has been fruitful for both.

  • Working in a multicultural environment implies that each one has very different cultures, ways of working, habits. While in an initial phase this might represent a challenge, it is a great achievement to realize that personal diversities also represent the biggest strength within a team.

  • It is a very rewarding experience to have the chance to contribute to the work of an enterprise and produce a report that will be used for their future operations and organizational development. It is a great kick-start for the experience of a young professional who will be finishing his/her Master program at IE and will soon be entering the employment market.
