A CONVERSATION WITH NAJAT MAALLA

Dr. Najat Maalla M’jid, the United Nations Special Representative of the Secretary-General on Violence Against Children, recently visited IE University to underline the organization’s progress toward ensuring access to safe protection for children around the world.

Speaking with Provost Manuel Muñiz, Dr. M’jid highlighted the unique challenges facing children and young people today, how the COVID-19 pandemic exacerbated already existing issues, and how new initiatives like Protection through Online Participation (POP) are bridging the gap in access to child safety and protection services through the Internet. She also met IE University students to discuss the role of emerging tech in the fight to keep children safe online.
