TACKLING THE FINTECH SECTOR CHALLENGES IN EUROPE

IE University recently had the pleasure of hosting Mairead McGuinness, the Commissioner for Financial Services, Financial Stability and the Capital Markets Union for the European Commission. Her aim is to tackle the challenges facing entrepreneurs in the financial sector, and understand the complexities behind accessing financing.

During her time at IE University, the Commissioner shared her insights on the future of Europe’s Banking Union. She spoke in depth about regulating fintech and crypto currency, as well as the inevitable negative effects of geopolitics on the European Union’s economy and financial sector. Despite the challenges the economy faces, the Commissioner has implemented a well-planned strategy, allowing her to create an impact in an adverse and fast-paced environment.
